Objectives

After completing the study unit, the student teacher is able to
- identify global trends related to their field, education and learning and operate in a future-oriented manner
- apply the principles of sustainable education in their work and work community
- promote their own well-being and safety and those of their work community
- plan their operating methods to suit the changing operating environments
- actively operate as a part of the management and operating culture of their work community.

Content

During the study unit, we will seek to answer the following questions:
- What are the global trends affecting education and learning?
- How can you anticipate the future of education and learning?
- How are various professions developing?
- What is the meaning of sustainable development in the work of a teacher?
- How are the needs for well-being and safety changing in learning and working environments?
- How are changes affecting a teacher’s work and self-management?

Assessment criteria, pass/fail

The student passes the study unit if they have demonstrated competencies described in the learning outcomes. If the student has not achieved the learning outcomes or supplemented their competencies in the manner agreed on, they will fail the study unit. The grounds for the assessment criteria are described in the document ‘Pedagogical principles in professional teacher education’. The assessment criteria are derived from the learning outcomes presented in the implementation plan for the study unit.

Week 6 and 7 working on the influential act (guidance available on fridays)
