Objectives
• master family-centred health care and guidance related to normal pregnancies and puerperium in prenatal care, recognise risk factors related to pregnancy and delivery, are able to prevent risks, and can consult and refer clients to follow-up treatment
• recognise expectant mothers’ acute need for care and are able to make nursing decisions
• nurse and guide mothers with prenatal diseases treated in primary health care
• evaluate and support family relationships (couple relationship, parenthood, growing as a mother and father, early interaction with children)
• prevent infectious diseases in pregnancies and counsel in case and refer clients to follow-up treatment
