Objectives (course unit)

Student is able to create scriptwriting and storyboard for animation. Student is able to use visual vocabulary in order to externalize ideas. Student is able to collaborate in an international student team.

Content (course unit)

Student creates a script and storyboard for animation.

Prerequisites (course unit)

Basics of the subject.

Exam schedules

No exam;
Deliverables / Main course task: Creating visuals and text for a scifi world with a web of at least four characters, to be used for either an animated series or a game.

Preliminary requirements: Ability to read, speak and write English, basic knowledge of drawing technique and Adobe Photoshop preferred
Course content:
How to create an interesting web of characters, with enough contrast both in personalities and visual looks of each character.
What is the ‘motor’ of an animated series - how to create stories from the basic motor.
Creating a logical, visually coherent and interesting world, where the characters fit in naturally.
Using your own experiences of the real world, and reference materials, in order to create imaginary places and people.
