Objectives

The core competence fields of teachers’ work are assessment competence, cultural competence, teaching and facilitation competence, partnership competence and wellbeing competence. They form a framework for all competence objectives.

Teacher students
- assess different operating and learning environments and their pedagogical stimuli in their field of education
- analyse educational institutions’ different operating cultures and their effects on teachers’ work
- participate actively in network meetings related to professional teacherhood and expand their networks
- operate and assess their and others’ work in multiprofessional groups of educational institutions and their field
- identify and define transitional phases of the field of education
- master group work and team work skills as well as identify their related strengths and development needs
- can work as supervisors in workplace learning and practical training.

Further information

The course is based on practical familiarisation with learning environments and professional teachers’ networks. As regards networks, teacher students’ active work in networks and communities is emphasised. Teacher students are familiarised with diversity of teaching and facilitation, participate in social forums and know their work is a part of their students’ world of experience.
