EDUCATIONAL COMPETENCE
The focus area of the education is evidence-based entrepreneurship management and development skills.
The training provides the skills for demanding entrepreneurial management, development and expert tasks in social and health care, where independent and critical thinking, management of change processes and innovative strategic development, identification and solving of complex challenges and effective management of operations are emphasized.
Through the studies, theoretically extensive knowledge of the social and health sector is achieved, as well as the readiness to acquire researched information as a basis for entrepreneurship, for its critical evaluation and development, taking into account the legislation both of the social and health sector and entrepreneurship.
PROFESSIONAL STATUS
The degree in entrepreneurship in the social and health sector is a work life-oriented higher education degree, and it is comparable to similar degrees in EU countries (EQF, level 7). Extensive management and development skills in entrepreneurship enable the student to move nationally and internationally. After graduation, the student knows how to develop entrepreneurship in the social and health sector based on evidence. The education provides the skills to work as an expert in the social and health sector. After graduation the students are qualified to apply to vocational teacher's education and those public positions for which a master-level degree is a requirement.
THE VALUE BASIS OF EDUCATION
The student deepens the critical examination of ethical activities in her/his own field and deepens her/his competence in entrepreneurship in the social and health sector as well as in its development and management.
The student bases her/his business activities on evidence-based information and takes into account different perspectives, such as the legality of her/his activities and sustainable development. The student knows how to base entrepreneurial activities on legislation in the social and health sector.
The student knows how to work in her/his profession both independently and in multidisciplinary network cooperation, working with different actors or as an independent entrepreneur, respecting the professionalism and expertise of others.
The student values the continuous development of her/his own activities, her/himself and her/his field and follows the development of the field nationally and internationally.
STRUCTURE OF STUDIES
TAMK's higher university of applied sciences degrees include 30 credits of in-depth professional studies on a substantive subject. These focus in particular on the key issues of entrepreneurship and management and customer-oriented development in the social and health sector. The degree program includes 15 credits of alternative in-depth studies and 15 credits of freely chosen studies. These studies are chosen according to the student's interests and schedule, for example from Mutual Master Courses at TAMK. Expertise is supplemented according to special professional needs with alternative in-depth studies and freely chosen studies

IMPLEMENTATION OF TEACHING
The training consists of face-to-face teaching days (2-4 days/month) as well as remote and independent work. Different methods of independent working, participatory working and cooperative learning are used in the training. Part of the teaching can take place in English. Each student prepares a personal learning plan together with the teacher tutor. The form of teaching is multi-form teaching.

Objectives
Graduated from the degree is able to
• manage his company based on evidence-based information
• enable the continuous development of the competence of oneself and the personnel
• work as an entrepreneur in the social and health sector as well as in development and expert tasks
• use the financial management methods necessary for business development
• identify business trends and megatrends and with this can identify the future needs of one's own customer segment
Curriculum development and working life cooperation
The curricula are developed in cooperation with other degree programmes of Tampere University of Applied Sciences (TUAS). In addition, there is joint developmental work and implementation with other universities of applied sciences and national networks.
During the studies, collaboration is made with working life organisations and actors and studies are also carried out in a variety of national and international projects.
