Objectives

The student
- masters the significance of sexual and reproductive health extensively in different contexts of midwifery
- is able to implement the midwifery theory in midwifery practice and also in the demanding special situations
- masters extensively the midwifery practices regarding relaxing, pain relief and maternal wellbeing support that promote the physiology and normality of pregnancy, childbirth and postnatal stage

Content

- expertise of sexual and reproductive health in midwifery
- managing special situations of midwifery
- promoting pregnancy and labour physiology with midwifery practices
- midwifery oral final examination
- midwifery written final examination

Prerequisites

The student must have completed 19KL-1010 studies.
Participation in Supervised Clinical Training courses 1-14.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2)

The student
- identifies the interfaces between the sexual and reproductive health and midwifery
- implements the midwifery theory restrictively and non-critically
- solves problems is mainly based on the evidence based knowledge and ethical rules
- is able to describe the midwifery practices

Assessment criteria, good (3-4)

The student
- masters the significance of the sexual and reproductive health in the context of midwifery
- implements the midwifery theory diversely in decision-making
- is able to search the scientific evidence to develop the expertise in midwifery
- is able to implement the methods that promotes physiology in the custom-oriented way

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student
- masters the extensive significance of the sexual and reproductive health in the context of midwifery
- justifies the midwifery decision-making extensively, creatively and ethically and is able to develop own and group´s expertise and professional know-how
- is able to implement the scientific and professional evidence actively, extensively and in the customer-oriented way
