Objectives

The student
- Knows the different forms of wood-based fuels, their most common supply chains, and their cost structures
- is capable of planning and instructing energy wood cuttings
- knows the requirements for energy wood storage sites and the impact of storage on the quality of the end product
- knows the requirements of different users (combustion plants) for fuel quality
- is aware of the environmental impacts of forest energy procurement and knows the environmental recommendations
- knows methods for measuring energy wood

Content

Objectives for using renewable energies. Types of wood energy, their acquisition and subsidies. Recommendations for energy wood harvesting. Measuring energy wood. Environmental effects of Forest Energy Harvesting on Woodland Nutrition, Wood Production and Biodiversity

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2)

The student knows the basics of the forest energy procurement process and the recommendations guiding the forest energy procurement. He / she is able to design energy wood harvesting guided by the quality of the fuel

Assessment criteria, good (3-4)

The student knows the goals for the use of renewable energies and knows the supply chains for wood-based fuels. The student knows how to plan energy wood harvesting taking into account the quality of the fuel. The student knows the requirements for fuel quality set by different applications.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student understands the use of renewable energies as part of the fight against climate change.
The student is able to design energy wood procurement taking into account environmental impacts and profitability of operations. The student understands the fuel quality requirements of different applications and knows the factors affecting the quality of fuel fractions.
