After completing the course, the student
• understands how international sourcing and purchasing activities are performed.
• learn the routines and rules of global textile importing, exporting and subcontracting.
• knows the most important restrictions and legislations regarding commerce.
• is familiar with the most common problems regarding purchasing
• is able to draw up international documents regarding purchasing.
• can also take into account the ethical principles when it comes to selecting the supplier.
• understand the importance of the quality assurance and is aware of the quality assurance tools and methods.

Sisältö

• Purchasing and sourcing methods from subcontracting to product purchases.
• Purchase agreements, terms of purchase, terms of payment, methods of transport.
• Laws and regulations governing international product sourcing.
• Price formation. Quality and delivery control.

Knowing: The student has an overview of the principles of the topic. The student has basic knowledge about the principles of global sourcing business.
Acting: The student manages the assigned tasks under supervision/assistance.
Being: The student takes his/her responsibity for studying and is capable of working in a group. The student can give and take feedback.

Knowing: The student understands well the global supply chain of textile products and sourcing process. The student can explain the principles of global sourcing business and can describe the challenges related to that topic.
Acting: The student applies substance matter learnt in previous studies, makes a plan/plans before carrying out tasks, limits tasks/problems to have an appropriate scope, solves problems.
Being: The student can give and receive feedback actively and constructively, can cooperate responsibly and is ready to develop his/her interaction skills. The student recognizes and follows the important courses of action in the field. The student takes responsibility and commits to the group activities in addition to his/her own work.
