Osaamistavoitteet

The course focuses on methods and tools for ensuring quality in textile and clothing products, rom raw materials to finished goods. After completing the course, the student is able to
• perform quality testing of fibers, yarns and fabrics
• evaluate the quality criteria requirements of fibers, yarns and fabrics
• select the correct textile material based on the quality characteristics of the product
• understand the concept of quality management and its application in the textile and clothing industry
• use tools and techniques for quality assurance, control, and management for textile and clothing industry
• explore the statistical methods used in quality management
• examine the role of quality management in customer satisfaction and competitive advantage
• understand the importance of quality thinking and system prevailing principles in textile and clothing industry, product safety requirements, legislation and regulations for textile materials

Arviointikriteerit, tyydyttävä (1-2)

The student competence is sufficient for passing the course but remains narrow. The student is familiar with the basic concepts and phenomena related to the themes discussed during the course.
The given tasks are reported and presented within the deadline but background information is minimal, presentation is incomplete, discussion and conclusions are inadequate showing that only narrow competence is achieved.
The student takes responsibity for studying and is capable of working in a group. The student can give and take feedback.

Arviointikriteerit, hyvä (3-4)

The students competence is structured and student can apply the theoretical knowledge in known situations. The student knows and understands the basic concepts and phenomena related to the themes discussed during the course.
The given tasks are reported and presented properly and within the deadline. The student shows deep understanding of the concepts and ability to apply them.
The student can give and receive feedback actively and constructively, can cooperate responsibly and is ready to develop interaction skills. The student takes responsibility and commits to the group activities in addition to own work.

The students competence is very comprehensive and student can apply the theoretical knowledge in changing situations.
The student is motivated towards the subjects discussed, shows creativity and has a positive attitude towards developing itself. The student can apply knowledge in this field. The student can search for diverse solution alternatives, justify own choices. The student is able to solve challenging and applied tasks.
The student can cooperate responsibly, flexibly and constructively The student develops own and the group's interaction. The student can give and receive feedback actively and constructively. The student can cooperate responsibly and is ready to develop own interaction skills.
