Objectives

The aim of the course is for students to develop their written communication skills in Swedish for work and business, and to be able to cope with different language situations in their field.
On completion of the course, the student will
- can communicate in writing in a variety of work and business situations
- be able to apply key vocabulary and phrases in practice
- master the structure of a written text
- be able to use different channels and communication opportunities offered by digitalisation and technology when producing texts.

Content

The content of the section is as follows:
- email communication
- communication related to the buying and selling process (enquiry, request for quotation, offer, order, delivery, payment, complaint)
- Memos

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2)

The text produced by the student contains ambiguities and difficult-to-interpret passages that make it difficult to understand. The student's vocabulary, grammar and spelling are imprecise and essential elements may be missing from the text. The student needs further guidance and support in producing the text. The student passes the learning tasks.

Assessment criteria, good (3-4)

The text produced by the student is largely relevant and convincing, although there may be some individual ambiguities. The student writes clearly and uses a wide range of vocabulary, but there may be grammatical, word choice and spelling errors. The student is able to use written sources to help him/her. The student performs well in learning tasks.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The text produced by the student is easy to understand, has a logical structure and contains all the necessary information. The student uses a wide and varied vocabulary, grammar and spelling are almost flawless. The student's written expression is professional. The student is able to use written sources effectively. Excellent performance in learning tasks.
