Objectives (course unit)

The student is able to form free-body diagrams of a particle and a ridig body, form equilibrium equations from them and solve for unknown support reactions. The student is able to determine the normal forces, shear forces and bending moment of a beam. The student is able to take into account the effects of friction in static structures and determine the location of the center of gravity of a body. Student masters the use of technical aids in solving statics problems.

There are many practice tasks and there is a model solution for each task. You can check your own competence after studying each of the six themes with competence tests, which also accumulate the points needed for the evaluation.
