Objectives (course unit)

The course aims to increase understanding of profitability as a basis for business and the various ways to influence profitability. It also provides skills for pricing and selling in the experience business.

After completing the course, the student:
- can explain the importance of profitability in business
- can commercialise and sell experiential services
- can apply methods to influence profitability in the experience business
- can utilise various pricing methods, taking into account the experiential aspect

Content (course unit)

Profitability and its importance in the experience business.
Earning logics and pricing methods.
Commercialisation and sales.
Development of product/service profitability.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2) (course unit)

The student can consistently use concepts related to the subject.
The student can commercialize and sell experiential products and services.
The student can plan and evaluate the profitability of an experiential service.
The student can analyze the components of commercialization and profitability in the experience business.
The student can evaluate the revenue logic and pricing methods of an experiential service.

Assessment criteria, good (3-4) (course unit)

The student can structure and compare methods of commercialization, revenue logics, and pricing methods.
The student can solve issues related to commercialization and profitability in the experience business.
The student can analyze the basic assumptions and value premises underlying profitability.
The student can evaluate the results and impacts of commercialization and profitability.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5) (course unit)

The student can innovate or identify new alternative pricing methods and experiment with them.
The student can apply methods to improve profitability in the experience business.
The student can evaluate and develop the commercialization and profitability of experiential products and services.
The student can operate in demanding management or development tasks related to commercialization and profitability.
