Objectives (course unit)

The student can
• use CAD software as a designer's tool
• read, understand and produce electrotechnical documents
• observe, interpret and understand the connections of a finished electrotechnical device
• dimension the circuit components
• read and interpret the technical specifications of the device.

Content (course unit)

Use of CAD software in electrical design and related exercises. Correct drafting of design documents in accordance with documentation standards.

Finding out the existing installation and creating its documentation. Data collection from the technical documents of the devices, the basis for the selection of components and the preparation of purchase lists. Standard design of the center as project work.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2) (course unit)

The student can read electrotechnical documents, and can prepare them with CAD software based on ready-made model solutions. He recognizes the connections of a ready-made electrotechnical device, and can read the technical specifications of the device.

Assessment criteria, good (3-4) (course unit)

The student can read and understand electrotechnical documents, and can prepare them independently with CAD software. He knows how to interpret the connections of a finished electrotechnical device, and is able to produce documentation based on his findings. The student can interpret the technical specifications of the device and can measure the electrical components of the circuit.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5) (course unit)

The student understands electrotechnical documents, and knows how to prepare standard and unambiguous design documents independently with CAD software according to the requirements of the object. He understands the connections of a finished electrotechnical device, and is able to efficiently produce documentation describing it. The student knows how to interpret and apply the technical specifications of the device, and can justify the dimensions of the circuit's electrical components.
