Objectives (course unit)

Students learn to know the global history of architecture.
After completing the course, students understand the effects of different architectural elements on the whole and can relate architecture to the historical context.
Students understand what architecture consists of, recognise architectural styles and can classify different fields of architecture.
Students know the effects of architecture on the society.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2) (course unit)

Student recognizes periods in the history of architecture, related stylistic aspects and background factors.

Performance in assignments is routine and satisfying. It can be seen from the entity that the discussed matters have been given superficial attention.

Student examines and evaluates things from his own perspective and takes responsibility for his own performance.

Assessment criteria, good (3-4) (course unit)

The student knows how to structure, compare and apply the periods of the history of architecture, the stylistic aspects and background factors related to them. Activity during the course is good and constructive, and the tasks have been completed in an applied, explanatory and comparative way.

Student has a good understanding of the stylistic development and historical environment of the history of architecture, knows how to distinguish the characteristic features of the style and applies the learned topics in a comprehensive way to the exercises.

Student examines and evaluates things from both his own and the local community's point of view.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5) (course unit)

Student knows how to structure, compare and apply the eras of the history of architecture, the stylistic features and background factors related to them in a wide area.

Student has participated in the teaching in an active, committed, responsible and constructive manner. The exercises show the student's focus on the themes of the course in an analytical and creative way.

Student can explain and present the continuum of the history of architecture expertly and can analyze the historical environment. He understands the causes and consequences of the context of the history of architecture and general history.

Student examines and evaluates himself and the community or work group in which he works in his professional field.
