Objectives (course unit)

After completing the course the student knows the main structures used in single-family houses and their properties. He / she is able to choose the appropriate structures suitable for the object and modify them.
Detail design plays an important role. The details made must be of high quality and reasonably constructed and meet the requirements of eg Dry Chain10.
The student is familiar with the concepts of fire regulations and their use and can apply the requirements of fire regulations in the design of a P3 class building.
The student knows the requirements for building and maintenance safety and is able to take them into account in his / her work.

• Types of framework system
• Types and methods of foundation and drying of foundations
• Underfloor: ground and ventilated

• Types and joints of the outer casing: wooden buildings (frame, CLT), ingot buildings, etc.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2) (course unit)

The student can identify and define the most common structures of a single-family house, building materials and their properties. The student can choose suitable structures under guidance or based on a previous model. The student recognizes the details of the structures and knows how to choose suitable details for a single-family house with guidance or on the basis of a previous model, but does not know how to justify his choice. The student recognizes and knows how to define fire safety requirements.

Assessment criteria, good (3-4) (course unit)

The student can identify and define the most common structures of a single -family house, building materials and their properties and can structure the relationships between them. The student can choose suitable structures for a single-family house from the alternatives and justify his choice. The student recognizes and knows how to analyze the details of structures and choose the details suitable for a single-family house from the alternatives, justifying their choice. The student recognizes requirements related to fire safety in a single-family house.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5) (course unit)

The student can identify and define the most common structures of a single-family house, building materials and their properties and understand the effects of different options on the structures of a single-family house in a broad area. The student knows how to choose suitable structures for a single-family house by combining what he has learned, applying his choice creatively and with justification. The student has a comprehensive understanding of the details of structures and knows how to creatively select and apply details to a single-family house, justifying his solution. The student has a comprehensive understanding of requirements related to fire safety in a single-family house.
