Objectives (course unit)

Students
- understand and utilise biomedical laboratory science articles
- can develop their language skills in their special field using diverse learning tools
- attain such written Swedish skills as are required by the university of applied sciences legislation and that are necessary for practising the profession

PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCE AND INFORMATION ACQUISITION
The student
- is able to explain their practical training and work experience in a brief and mainly comprehensible manner
- understands the main points of easy professional texts regarding their work
WORKING COMMUNITY COMMUNICATION
The student
- is able to communicate, briefly but mainly comprehensibly, in a simple manner in situations typical to the work community
GUIDANCE
The student
- can offer simple instructions to guide the client/patient
- is able to ask simple questions in an interview situation, but may have trouble understanding the replies (sample collecting)
- is able to use the basic terminology of the field

- is able to find and use the most important professional publications of their field
