Objectives (course unit)

The student
• understands the issues related to psychological and social consequences of the nature of genetics including the potential impact of genetic diseases on individual and family, and is able to develop, plan, implement and evaluate patient-oriented Genetic and Genomic counselling in an evi-dence-based manner
• masters and is able to apply ethical aspects and specific issues related to genetic and genomic counselling

• Psychological issues of genetic and genomic counselling
• Ethical principles for genetic and genomic practice

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2) (course unit)

- demonstrates competence in the basic content of the course, but there are deficiencies in ability to apply the content to Genetic and Genomic counselling in an evidence-based manner
- lacks competence to apply ethical aspects and specific issues related to genetic and genomic counselling
