MATHEMATICS
Student knows the basic mathematical notations and calculations required in laboratory work
CHEMISTRY
Student understands the most important basic concepts of chemistry and the foundation for the reactions and reagents’ attributes used in clinical chemistry
PHYSICS
Student understands the most important concepts of physics regarding clinical laboratory

Unit conversions (including units of concentration)
First-degree equations
Proportions
Percentage calculations
Graphs (especially lines: slope and interception)

CHEMISTRY
Definition and scope of chemistry
Periodic table
The main types of chemical bonding
Amount of Substance
Molar concentration, mass concentration, mass fraction, volume concentration
Dilution, serial dilution and dilution ratio
Chemical reactions and stoichiometry
The rate and equilibrium of chemical reactions
Brönstedt’s acid-base definition
The concept of pH
The concepts of strong and weak acids
Buffer solutions
PHYSICS
Quantum mechanics: electromagnetic waves and photons, absorption, prism, lattice, laser, paramagnetic substance
Hydrostatic pressure, viscosity, capillary rise, osmosis
States of matter, phase transitions, expansion and contraction

The student can perform simple, practical calculations, define some related terms and answer some theoretical questions.

In addition to the previous criteria the student can calculate more difficult sums and answer theoretical questions more extensively.
