Objectives (course unit)
Students are able to use modern digital engineering software.
Students are able to:
- model rotationally symmetrical and sheet metal parts
- model double curvature surfaces
- model parts extruded along a control curve
- model assemblies
Content (course unit)
During the course students model vehicle components using a variety of methods
- Rotationally symmetrical parts
- Bodywork sheet metal parts
- Double curvature surface parts
- Exhaust systems modeling along the control curve.
The modeled parts are joint into digital assemblies.
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2) (course unit)
Students know design methods. They complete tasks under assistance. They take responsibility of their studies.
Assessment criteria, good (3-4) (course unit)
Students are able to apply what they have learned to practical problems. They can choose the right methods and justify their selection. They recognize and follow common design principles.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5) (course unit)
Students are able to contextualize what they have learned. The are able to search for various methods and solutions, justify their selection and try various methods. Students understand the economic impact of their actions.

- pyörähdyssymmetriset osat
- korirakenteiden ohutlevykappaleet
- kaksoiskaarevat pintamallit
Opintojaksolla tehdään mallinetuista osista kokoonpanoja.
Opintojakson tavoitteet
Opiskelija osaa:
- ymmärtää 3d tulostuksen ja skannauksen
- piirtää pyörähdyskappaleen ja ohutlevykappaleen
- piirtää kaksoiskaarevia pintoja
- piirtää ohjauskäyrää pitkin pursotettavia kappaleita
- piirtää kokoonpanoja
