Osaamistavoitteet (Opintojakso)

The participants will understand various challenges in pursuing sustainability. They will gain an overview of how to understand, govern and lead complex change processes and understand factors that are leading transformation processes in the society. The participants have identified competences needed in sustainability leadership. They have made a self-evaluation of your personal competences as a leader in a circular economy project.

Aika ja paikka

The first 2 credit courseof the course, is a MOOC course organised by Helsinki university. Student time is divided into self-study, groupwork, ZOOM discussions and a final report for 3 credits.

Tenttien ja uusintatenttien ajankohdat

There will be no exams. Completing the Leadership course from Helsinki university MOOC course, plus the final group report replase exams.

Arviointimenetelmät ja arvioinnin perusteet

This course emphasizes on Leadership, Culture and Circular Economy. Leader course, is completed by completing the 2 credit Leadership for Sustainable Change course and submitting the certificate of proof. Second, attending the online ZOOM discussion to participate in the discussions. Cultural aspect is completed by using the framework learn on the course to analyse a real case, where a group complets and submits a group report based on a case of the chosen case. Student demonstrates creativity, critical thinking and problem solving skills in the final report.
The report should be readable and comprehensible. Source materials are refered to appropriately.

Opiskelumuodot ja opetusmenetelmät

Distant learning, e-materials available in the Tabula and University of Helsinki's MOOC Platform, virtual meetings. Active participation in online collaborative platforms required. The teaching methods include collaborative learning, groupwork and ZOOM discussions of the topics studied.

Sisällön jaksotus

Part one: Leadership and Sustainable Course in Helsinki MOOC platform. You can do it by going here: http://leadforsust.fi/ Complete the course and submit your certificate to the designated folder in TABULA.
Part two: includes online video conferences where participants engage in a dialogue about the topics learnt from the first part of the course.
Part three: Case study report.
Part four: Presentation of the case.

Evaluation: 1-5 grading scale 80% participation in the online meetings, completing the first part(certificate) Submitting group report.
1-3 The criteria set for the report is met
4-5 advanced language skills, analytical thinking etc..

Student has not completed the Leadership for Sustainable Change course and has not taken part in any of the online ZOOM discussions, and has not participated in any groupwork and the final report writing.

Arviointikriteerit - tyydyttävä (1-2) (Ei käytössä, kts Opintojakson Arviointikriteerit ylempänä)

Student has completed the Leadership for Sustainable Change course and has taken part in at least one of the the online ZOOM discussions, and has participated in groupwork and the final report writing.
The student communicates in comprehensible English on the whole and shows some awareness of the norms for different types of text; references to source materials are included where appropriate. Requirements regarding participation, meeting deadlines etc. are minimally fulfilled.

Arviointikriteerit - hyvä (3-4) (Ei käytössä, kts Opintojakson Arviointikriteerit ylempänä)

Student has completed the Leadership for Sustainable Change course and has taken part in at least 2 or more of the the online ZOOM discussions, and has participated in groupwork and the final report writing.
Students’ English is mainly clear and appropriate. Written work meets norms for different types of text, including scientific reporting. Oral communication is professional. Requirements regarding participation, meeting deadlines etc. are mainly fulfilled.

Arviointikriteerit - kiitettävä (5) (Ei käytössä, kts Opintojakson Arviointikriteerit ylempänä)

Student has completed the Leadership for Sustainable Change course and has taken part in all of the the online ZOOM discussions, and has participated in groupwork and the final report writing.
Students’ written English is formal and accurate and displays appropriate variation in style; reports meet norms for different types of text; students show ability to access and select appropriate information; references to source materials are incorporated accurately and in a variety of ways; source materials are expertly paraphrased. Oral expression is fluent and professional. Requirements regarding participation, meeting deadlines etc. are consistently fulfilled.
