Osaamistavoitteet (Opintojakso)
The student can use his/her professional knowledge in business life situations.
The aim of the course is to develop the professional business communication skills in conjunction with learning the professional skills.
It will provide a good base for using English as a professional language.
Sisältö (Opintojakso)
Presentations, team work, meetings and negotiations, writing and reviewing technical reports, case-studies and ”trouble shooting” are used to apply the subject matter learnt during lectures. Learning by doing, active participation,
workshops, written and oral tasks.

Mondays 8.00 -10.00 on ZOOM.
Tenttien ja uusintatenttien ajankohdat
There will be no exams. Assessment will be based on completing 80% of attendance, submitting all required assignments, participating in all class activities, including discussions, presentations etc.

Lectures, group work, presentations, discussions and role-play are the methods of teaching on this course.
Oppimateriaalit
Materials will be provided on Moodle for specific topics. Students generate their materials related to their field of study.
Opiskelijan ajankäyttö ja kuormitus
Students prepare for presentations and discussions on topics related to their field of study. Presentations will be in a form of video conferencing or recorded videos.

Arviointikriteerit - tyydyttävä (1-2) (Ei käytössä, kts Opintojakson Arviointikriteerit ylempänä)
The student has attended 80% of the lessons and has participated in the lessons. (Discussions, presentations and other activities. The students can communicate in general terms with some mistakes. Lacks vocabulary in his/her field of study, but can continue when prompted. The student can describe his/her field of study in both written and oral form. The student can give a basic company presentation without pronouncing the key terminology accurately.
Arviointikriteerit - hyvä (3-4) (Ei käytössä, kts Opintojakson Arviointikriteerit ylempänä)
The student has attended 80% of the lessons and has participated in the lessons. (Discussions, presentations and other activities. The students can communicate in general and more specific terms with fewer mistakes. He/she has mastered vocabulary in his/her field of study and can engage in extensive discussions. The student can describe his/her field of study in both written and oral form. The student can give a company presentation with the good pronunciation of the key terminologies. His/Her written English is with fewer grammatical errors. He/she understands the norms of reporting using TAMK's report guide.
