Objectives (course unit)
Students can
- can guide a physiotherapy group from a biospychosocial point of view
- can evaluate and assess pain together with a patient
- can choose and argue physiotherapeutic possibilities for treating pain
- can apply suitable and up-to-date physiotherapeutic examination methods in defining the movement and functional ability of patients who have musculoskeletal problems
- can draw conclusions of an examination
- can apply and argue appropriate physiotherapeutic methods in way required by patient's situation
- can motivate and support a patient to practice independently
Content (course unit)
- guidance of a physiotherapeutic group
- physiotherapy in treatment of pain
- assessment and physiotherapy plan for a patient with musculo skeletal problems
- clinical reasoning
- principles of therapeutic exersices in musculo skeletal problems
- guiding principles for physiotherapy in pool
Prerequisites (course unit)
To be able to participate this course you have to have pased the first year courses.
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2) (course unit)
Student
- performs exercises and tasks partially supported and supervised
- demonstrates poor knowledge base and skills in carrying out exercises
- works externally and schematically in steering situations
- fails to state adequate reasons
- prepaires insufficiently to tasks
- acts inappropriately and in one-sided way
Assessment criteria, good (3-4) (course unit)
Student
- is able to apply appropriately what he / she has learned according to the situation
- justifies its actions mainly
- is able to outline a physiotherapeutic diagnosis
- is capable of partial clinical reasoning
- prepares carefully and systematically for teaching situations
- trains actively using guidance
Assessment criteria, excellent (5) (course unit)
Student
- is able to apply new research data
- makes use of what they have learned in the past
- is able to define a physiotherapeutic diagnosis and is able to make clinical reasoning
- practices actively, is able to evaluate his / her performance, learning in a variety of ways and is able to justify his / her activities
- is able to interact well with the mentee / group
- selects content appropriate for group management and based on group resources and carefully plans the progress of implementation and roles
Assessment criteria, pass/fail (course unit)
When failed the student withdraws, selects or neglects his / her duties and practices in classes and supervision situations. She does not focus on practice and has absences from practice classes. The student's basic knowledge and skills are incomplete.

Harjoitustunnit arvioidaan joka harjoitustunnin aikana.
Käytännön koe arvioidaan numeerisesti asteikolla 0-5.
Harjoittelujakson jälkeen viikolla 51 pidetään yhteenvetokoe.

Teaching methods
Opetusmenetelmä teoriaan pohjautuvia fysioterapeuttisten mentelmien ohjaus ja opetus. Opiskelijat harjoittelevat myös itsenäisesti opetettuja asioita.
Harjoitustunnit ovat pakollisia.
