Exam schedules
Written exams will be held on 09.10.2019 (Part A) and 11.12.2019 (Part B). Re-sit dates will be announced later.
Oral assessments will be held throughout the second half of the course.
Evaluation methods and criteria
Assessment plan:
• Written Exam Part A – 30% of the total course marks
• Written Exam Part B – 40% of the total course marks
• Active Participation (participation in class activities, contribution to discussions, home assignments) – 30% of the total course marks
• Mandatory Oral Assessment (group discussion) – Pass/Fail
To pass the written exam, the student must obtain at least 50% of the marks available.

Independent study – 53 h (approx. 4 hours per week over the duration of the course)

Completion alternatives
FOR MANDATORY COURSES:
If the student has completed corresponding studies at another university of applied sciences, the student may apply for credit transfer through Hyvähot system.
Such cases have to be discussed with the course teacher, and the student may be required to complete additional assignments to demonstrate their knowledge and skills.
FOR OPTIONAL COURSES:
There are no alternative ways of completing the course.

• understands the main points of adapted professional materials in his/her technical field, and is able to obtain basic information from such materials
• all aspects of the course have been completed

The student:
• speaks clearly and understandably but with some mistakes
• expresses himself/herself clearly, using sufficient vocabulary and a range of grammatical structures
• understands most points of adapted professional materials in his/her technical field, is able to obtain the required information and convey it in an understandable manner
• all aspects of the course have been completed

The student:
• speaks clearly and understandably, with only occasional mistakes
• expresses himself/herself clearly and naturally, using a wide vocabulary and a range of grammatical structures
