Osaamistavoitteet (Opintojakso)
The student
- participates actively in clinical training and is responsible for his/her own and the group’s learning
- takes care of tidiness and orderliness during clinical training
- follows principles of ergonomics and promotes patients' functioning ability
- is able to work according to aseptic principles
- is able to help and guide people in their daily activities
- is able to monitor adults' vital signs and related changes
- is able to ensure continuity of nursing by documentation

- aseptic practice in the nursing environment
- moving and handling of patients according to ergonomic principles
- maintenance of personal hygiene and skin care
- maintenance of nutritional status
- promotion of elimination
- measuring and monitoring of circulation and respiration
- assisting of patients with respiratory problems

Total of 108 hours including independent studies.
Skills stations in small groups (18NURSE- tabula) as follows:
- 1 x 4 h Ergonomics
- 6 x 4 h Skills stations at school
- 4 x a 6 hour shift in living lab in Tammenlehväkeskus.
Independent practice (in itsetila (P-building)) documented in portfolio.
- pretasks before Skills stations, portfolio work, virtual hospital ( 2 hours for that) (digimedia.tamk.fi) and occupational safety 2 hours

Active participation in skills stations and during Living Lab days
-approved competence in clinical skills
-approved tasks as a part of portfolio
-student masters the basics of maintaining patient’s personal hygiene, skin integrity, excretion, nutrition, moving, and can monitor, guide and assist patient with mentioned activities taking individuality and resources into consideration.
- student can monitor vital functions and measure blood pressure, heart rate and rhythm, respiratory rate reliably, and can guide and utilize situation specific nursing methods with maintaining and enhancing vital functions.
