Objectives (course unit)
The student:
- knows the basics of operating and planning of forest machines and the basic factors affecting the operating characteristics of forest machines
- knows the equipment and their properties used in forest machines and knows how to choose different equipment in different situations
- knows the basic physics related to the functioning of forest machines.
Content (course unit)
Main features of forest machine structure, frame structures, stability, steerability, engine technology and emissions, hydraulics and transmission, brakes, tyres, chains and rollers, terrain features, off-road mobility, equipment, loaders, ergonomics of forest machines, administrative procedures, structure regulations, machine safety, basics of bus technology in machines, technique of harvester measurement, demonstrations with forest machine simulator, physical concepts - power, efficiency, pressure, power,flow, stability, lifting capacity, basics of electrotechnic and electrical measurements.
