Megatrends in Circular Economy (5op)

Osaamistavoitteet (Opintojakso)

The participants are able to assess and analyze how the global megatrends affect decision making in complex circular economy actions whether they are investments, developing cooperation or administrative developments. The participants are able to analytically implement the often contradictory information on the effects of megatrends in specific local demanding decision making cases. They understand the need for using information produced by many different sources and the need for producing information in participatory processes.

Expert introductions into primary megatrends, complexity and global thinking followed by working on simulations and case studies on local level.

Evaluation is based on the student's participation and activity in the assingments and ability to discuss the connection of megatrends and circular economy analytically from many points of view.

Student has performed the assignments. The scope and discussion on megatrends is narrow and superficial. Student's participation in group assignments, contact workshops and web discussions is partial and/or not constructive.

Student has performed the assignments and been able to take multiple points of view on the issues and discuss their inter-connections. Student's participation in group assignments has been open to others ideas, but engagement has varied during the course.

Student has performed the assignments with dedication. Student has discussed the cased analyticallly and constructively both in individual assignments and group discussions. The student has shown interest and engagement during the whole course.
