- understands the rationale behind the laws, acts and norms
- know environmental administration and authorising bodies both at national and international level.
- can prepare an environmental permit application

Mandatory Introduction Session on Tue 16th Jan, 2018, according to Study Schedule.
The course contact teaching will be implemented in 3rd and 4th periods, between 16th Jan and 23 March, 2018.
The session is mandatory since the implementation, Tabula, Assignments, Deadlines, exams and Re-exams are dealt with, and agreed upon.
There will be some mandatory sessions during the course.

The grading is affected by
Class and excursion, and visiting lecturer’s lecture attendance 30 %, Group works, presentations 40 % and Assignments 30 %.

Prerequisites
The course is intended for 3rd year students who already passed the Public Administration and Participation course, or who have knowledge accordingly, and for exchange students, with an interest in gaining a general comprehensive understanding of environmental legislation and administration.
To pass the course a student is required to
1. attend the specified contact teaching sessions of the excursions, visiting lecturer’s lectures and EIA group work starting lecture and the session where the group work is presented.
2. work as a group member making an environmental permit application and a concise EIA –rehearsal of a case and presenting it for the rest of the group
3. write a report of the visiting lecturers and excursion topics and return
4. it 1) to the Tabula return forum

The student knows the environmental regulation system. The student is able to produce a learning diary. The student knows some group work skills. The student has potential in learning to utilize the possibility for co-operation and collective learning by participating the lectures, workshops and group work. The student is able to utilise some of the chance to learn from experienced professionals and therefore to participate the visiting lecturer’s lectures on the course. The student understands the importance of getting prepared to the session topics by returning the given pretasks. The students is able to work according to instructions given and by meeting the deadlines.

The student shows understanding of the environmental regulation systems and the student is able to apply some of the knowledge gained during the course when doing the assignments. The student is able to express thoughts and reflections in his/her learning diary. The student knows group work skills. The student is able to utilize the possibility for co-operation and collective learning by participating the lectures, workshops and group works. The student is able to utilise the chance to learn from experienced professionals and therefore to participate the visiting lecturer’s lectures on the course. The student understands the importance of getting prepared to the session topics by returning the given pretasks. The students is able to work according to instructions given and by meeting the deadlines.
