Objectives
The student
- can observe the changes after delivery, can recognize disturbances, and is able to guide the mother in self-care
- is able to counsel and support the family in breastfeeding and care of the newborn
- can assist the paediatrician in examination of the newborn
- knows the principles and technique of the tuberculosis vaccination, and is able to guide the family
- is able to implement postpartum medication
- can observe and care for mothers who have some disease or pregnancy or delivery related complications
- is able to observe and promote early interaction, and can recognize and react to disturbances in it
- can monitor and take care of healthy newborns and newborns who need special monitoring
- can guide in family planning
- can report orally and knows the documentation of care
- is able work in multiprofessional teams
- is able to perform bimanual and speculum examination and take the tests related to the postpartum check-up
