Introduction to Painting (3op)

Osaamistavoitteet (Opintojakso)

Student is able to use the basic skills in painting. Student recognizes painting as a medium for contemporary art. Student is able to collaborate in an international student team.

Sisältö (Opintojakso)

The student learn basic skills of painting: outlining form on a two-dimensional surface, various colour and material exercises, basics of watercolor and acrylic painting. The course is a workshop consisting of exercises, independent painting and discussions. Sustainable development.

Aika ja paikka

Lessons beginning are on Thursday 10.8. at 12:00. All lessons take part in Mediapolis in room 20064. The teacher for the course is Tiiu Baldwin.

Through the exercises and projects, you will develop a visual vocabulary as well as an analytic, informed approach to both the practice of painting, and to thinking about paintings.
