After completing this course student
- knows the principles of project management and project implementation
- know how to use technical tools in project management
- can plan, organize, implement and evaluate a project in different roles as a part of a project group

Arviointimenetelmät ja arvioinnin perusteet

Project management exercises and/or exam must be completed succesfully. In addition, there will be an obligatory group assignment related to managing an environmental project, which includes a group report (project plan) and a short seminar presentation in the end of the course. The seminar presentation and the plan will be assessed by student peer groups. Each student needs to write a short reflection on the experiences from the group assignment (pass/fail).

Student fails to complete the given tasks in a given time frame. Has not been able to recognize the role and significance of project management and has shown inadequete ability to utilize tools and techniques of project management.

Student has completed all parts of the course and achieved competence is sufficient, but narrow. All assignments have been returned by the given deadlines. This grade represents some but modest understanding by the student in terms of using project management tools and techniques in a concrete project work.

Arviointikriteerit - hyvä (3-4) (Ei käytössä, kts Opintojakson Arviointikriteerit ylempänä)

Student has completed all parts of the course and achieved competence is structured and applied. All assignments have been returned by the given deadlines. This grade represents good understanding by the student in terms of using project management tools and techniques in a concrete project work.

Arviointikriteerit - kiitettävä (5) (Ei käytössä, kts Opintojakson Arviointikriteerit ylempänä)

Student has completed all parts of the course and achieved competence is wide, creative and developing. All assignments have been returned by the given deadlines. This grade represents close to professional level understanding by the student in terms of using project management tools and techniques in a concrete project work.
