Objectives (course unit)

Students:
- know the basics dynamics
- know the vehicle linear and horizontal dynamics
- know tire contact theory
- know acceleration and deceleration force effects
- know the basics of aerodynamics.

Content (course unit)

The course covers the road and the tire contact during acceleration and braking, evasive maneuvers, performance and consumption calculations, forces, traction resistances and wheel power measurement, industrial vehicle special dynamics, aerodynamics and acoustics of the vehicle.

Location and time

The course will be in periods 1 and 2 according to schedule.

Exam schedules

There will be one or two examinations. It depends on the execution and will be told when the course is beginning. The abandoned examination can be done again in next two general examination event after the course has finished.

Evaluation methods and criteria

The grade will be determined by:
- dynamics 25 %
- tractive force / speed diagram 30 %
- braking balance exercise 15 %
- driving dynamics examination 30 %,

Assessment scale

0-5
