Problem based learning on Moodle: Introduction + 5 problem cases

PBL-working
Active participation in PBL-group working with 5 cases, scale 1-5, gives 50 % of the grade.
Criterions for grade 4-5 in PBL are the next:
- the student is involved in brain storm, analyzing and defining the learning question of all family cases
- the student finds relevant knowledge and shares it with the group
- the student is actively engaged in finding and formulating the solution to the family cases with the group
- the student acts as a responsible chair on one meeting of the group if ordered to do so (Check the parts of every week from weeks instructions)
- the student acts as a responsible secretary on one meeting of the group if ordered to do so. (Check the parts of every week from weeks instructions)
At the end of the course every student write a reflective essay about 5 pages on topic in English or Finnish: What I learned about family perspectives in social and health care services? Scale 1-5, essay gives 50 % of the grade. You will get feedback from the essay.
Opiskelumuodot ja opetusmenetelmät
International course in English language
Problem based learning on Moodle: Introduction + 5 family cases
All of the cases are happening within the family, students make their own definition of the family
Students working together in groups (5-8 students/group)
Teachers tutoring groups
Electronic references and links to Internet are available
on Moodle and videos with specialist interviews/lectures
