Objectives (course unit)
Student is able to create an animated cartoon and is able to utilise different ways to visualize animated stories. Student is able to collaborate in an international student team.

2-D animation, storyboards, animatics, 3D basics

The task is: The animated famous last words! The student will create a short animation, with lip synced famous last words. If necessary the animation may be produced during the Motion Graphics Project.

The student is expected to complete the course tasks partly outside the contact teaching times
Content scheduling
Course task: Students will work either individually or in pairs. Preferably in pairs. A short animation is produced that covers a theme from Darwin Awards web site. http://www.darwinawards.com/. The length of the animation is in maximum 45 seconds. Due to the short period, this course task may be continued on the Motion Graphics Project.
Completion alternatives
The student can pass the course without attendance by:
-- showing previous animation work (for example character animation or an animated short film)

Preliminary requirements:
-- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop CS, basic skills in Adobe Illustrator CS and After Effects CS
-- Basic knowledge and skill in visual design and animation
