Objectives (course unit)

Student is able to
- design based on user needs
- apply iterative design methods and produce personas, scenarios, use cases, flow charts, storyboards and prototype
- analyse, design and evaluate user-friendly interactive functionality
- develop interactive media concepts in a user-centered way
- collaborate in an international student team.

Content (course unit)

User-centered concept development: research, modeling, functional requirements, prototypes, evaluation methods, sustainable development.

Evaluation methods and criteria

Active participation. The quality of the deliverables: team work presentation, handbook.

Teaching methods

Contact teaching, team work, presentations, assignnments.

Learning materials

This course consists lectures, and a lot of Learning by doing. The teacher will instruct about learning materials during the course.

Student workload

In addition to contact teaching and team work the students work with the UX handbook as well.

Timing: 30.8.-1.9. 6.-8.9. 13.-15.9.
Target group understanding and modeling, storyboarding, focus groups, IX basics

Completion alternatives

The student should talk individually with the teacher if the situation demands.

The students will connect to the working life through assignments.
