Osaamistavoitteet (Opintojakso)

This course deals with understanding the basics of Finnish, Roman, and Common Law to a sufficient depth and detail to enable students to function in the business world. Most of the issues covered will also be relevant to understanding basic concepts and knowing where to find relevant legal resources when needed.

After completing the course, the students will be able to:

Demonstrate familiarity with Roman, and Common Law.
Access and critically evaluate relevant source materials.
Be familiar with essential legal processes.
Adopt the basics of Finnish law in English.

5 credits = about 135 hours of student work in total. This consists of contact teaching (about 30-33 hours) and other studies including exercises, assignments and studying the course literature.

Student has achieved the objectives of the course sufficiently. Student understands the premises and principles of the subject matter. Student recognizes, is able to determine and use the concepts and models.

Student has achieved the objectives of the course well although the skills and competences are somewhat in need of further development. Student is able to determine and apply the concepts of the subject matter well and is able to apply them in simple tasks.

Student has achieved the objectives of the course excellently. The student masters the concepts of the subject matter in an excellent manner. Student is able to conduct fluent and reasoned analysis and has good capabilities to apply the learning.
