- converses relatively fluently
- understands people speaking with different accents when the topic is familiar
- pronounces relativel naturally and clearly
- writes relatively clearly
- uses mainly correct constructions and is able to correct them should they lead to misunderstandings
- understands the main points of a text as well as most details
