This course deals with knowledge economy from an entrepreneurial point of view. The course focuses on forecasting methods, change process in economic area, globalization topics, finding product demand in changing economic perspective and entrepreneurial culture in overall.

After completing the course, the students will be able to:

Analyze knowledge economy and its industries from entrepreneurial point of view, finding business opportunities.
Describe the transformation process and the product demand, which the transformation process can create.
Create a feasible business plan/product idea for a company operating in knowledge economy.
Obtain an entrepreneurial attitude.
Adopt and create entrepreneurial culture in knowledge economy.

Learning diary & attendance to the contact meetings (6 contact lessons, 2 course project development/supervision based & 1 presentation): 40%
Project writing & presentation: 40%
Distance task & reading: 20%

Opiskelijan ajankäyttö ja kuormitus

The total resource: 120 hours. There will be 6 contact lessons of 18 hours during the 3rd period. 2 project development/supervision based meetings (2x3=6) One project presentation session of 4 hours during the 4th period & a mind mapping session of 3 hours. Learning diary 25 hours. Course project in trio group 25 hours & course reading plus distance task 30 hours.

Sisällön jaksotus

There will be 6 contact lessons during the 3rd period. After the contact lessons have been over, the students will be preparing their individual learning diary and trio group projects during the 4th period. During the project preparation, the course teacher will be available for guiding and supervising the project writing process. There will be 2 obligatory supervisor-supervise meetings before the presentation of the project.

Contact lessons are very important because the students will choose learning diary issues from the contact lessons. In addition, attendance to contact lessons will be part of the evaluation process.
