Objectives (course unit)

Student is able to
- know the administrative organisation and key decision making levels of primary health care, hospital districts, municipal public utilities, and limited companies
- know work-related laws, collective agreement contents, and other regulations
- identify the role of organisational nature, structure and culture in health care and clinical laboratory work
- know key concepts and meaning of quality and process management as well as the balanced scorecard in practical laboratory work
- know basics of the diverse sectors of personnel management
- know basics of laboratory economy
- do business like job application and CV
- know the diverse phases and channels of the search for work process and different recruitment ways

Content (course unit)

Administrative organisation and decision-making of primary health care, hospital districts, municipal public utilities, and limited companies
Laws regulating work, rules of health care organisations, collective agreements
Employee skills and workplace skills
Quality, process management and balanced scorecard concepts and practices
Personnel administration sectors
Basic concepts of health economics (cost accounting)
Search for work, recruitment and job interview, CV and job application

Prerequisites (course unit)

Operation and Management in Laboratory, Part I has been completed successfully
