Objectives (course unit)

The student knows the basics of dynamic behavior of rigid body structures and is able to use his/her skills to analyse vibration problems and to avoid mechanical vibration problems. The student will be able to form the basic formulas for analysing the vibration and forces and moments in rigid bodies in case of discrete systems, with or without damping and free or forced vibration.

Content (course unit)

The basics of dynamic behavior of rigid body strutures, nature of mechanical vibration, discrete systems, damping, free and forced vibration, construction of equations of motion by using Newton and Lagrange methods.

Prerequisites (course unit)

Prerequisites: Student knows the principles of dynamics and statics and is able to use mathematical calculation programs.

poor learning outcomes and skills

Assessment criteria - satisfactory (1-2) (Not in use, Look at the Assessment criteria above)

The student knows the basics of dynamic behavior of rigid body strutures and is able to use his/her skills to analyse vibration problems and to avoid mechanical vibration problems. The student will be able to form the basic formulas for analysing the vibration and forces and moments in rigid bodies in case of discrete systems (one d.o.f.) without damping and free or forced vibration.
Takes responsibility for his/her own work.

Assessment criteria - good (3-4) (Not in use, Look at the Assessment criteria above)

The student will be able to form the basic formulas for analysing the vibration and forces and moments in rigid bodies in case of discrete systems (one d.o.f.) without damping and free or forced vibration

Assessment criteria - excellent (5) (Not in use, Look at the Assessment criteria above)

The student will be able to form the basic formulas for analysing the vibration and forces and moments in rigid bodies in case of discrete systems (multiple d.o.f.) free or forced vibration
