Osaamistavoitteet (Opintojakso)

The student is able to examine, observe and interpret their living environment and visual culture.
The student is able to convey their observations and interpretations through drawing and develop compositions that address balance, point of view, positive and negative space, proportion, picture plane usage, as well as provide visual interest and/or dynamism.
Student is able to collaborate in an international student team.

Sisältö (Opintojakso)

Students observe proportions and value by using a model for drawing as well as examine the use of line as a form of expression. Explore and expand on the use of drawing materials and techniques including charcoal, graphite, ink and mixed media. Sustainable development.

Tue 19.8. 9-16 Lecture about the proportions and skeleton of the human body. The Renaissance. Life drawing exercises with charcoal or pencil.
We 20.8. 9-16 Lecture about anatomy of human head and neck. Portraits from history and contemporary artists. Life drawing exercises with charcoal or pencil.
Fri 22.8. 9-16 Lecture about anatomy of human legs and hands. Examples from history and contemporary artists. Drawing exercises with pencil.
We 3.9. 9-16 Lecture about ink drawing. Two student’s presentations. Light and shadow. Life Drawing exercises with ink.
We 10.9. 9-16 Lecture about monoprint. Line and textures. Two student´s presentations. Monoprint workshop. Life model.
We 17.9. 9-16 Group seminar. Middle course feedback for each student individually, specially focused on the sketch book.
We 24.9. 9-16 Lecture about pastel drawing. Two student´s presentations. Model and space. Pastel drawing workshop.
