After completing this course the student
- knows the juridical status of the individual and the principles of jurisdiction
- knows the legal and political systems and sources in Finland and Europe with special emphasis in environmental administration
- know the principles of public participation

Sisältö (Opintojakso)

Juridicial sequences; legal systems and sources; European Justice, legal cultures; legal acts and representation. The role of public participation different processes. Exercises and excursions

Course evaluation is based on participating the group work, doing the exercises and tasks and reporting them by deadline.
Total Grade is counted based on weighting:
Activity and Daily Tasks 20%
Interview Task 30%
Essays 50%

out of which contact teaching 39 h, and

The contact teaching will be arranged on weekly basis.

Student has returned the compulsory tasks by deadline. Participation to contact teaching has varied, but there has been participation to some extent.
Essays and other tasks have been unstructured, written with moderate English, but they have been done according to the instructions. References are sometimes incompletely expressed.

Arviointikriteerit - hyvä (3-4) (Ei käytössä, kts Opintojakson Arviointikriteerit ylempänä)

Student has participated most of the contact teaching. Student has participated to group work. She /He has delivered the tasks by deadline and the instructions have been followed.
Student has participated the possible guest lecturer’s lecture sessions.
Essay writing have been done according to the instructions and returned in time. Essays have been written in good English on the given topic. Referring has mainly been done according to the TAMK Reporting Guide instructions.

Arviointikriteerit - kiitettävä (5) (Ei käytössä, kts Opintojakson Arviointikriteerit ylempänä)

Student has participated regularly to the contact teaching. Student has participated actively to the group work and treated other group members in a constructive manner. She/He has done and delivered the tasks in time and participated actively in group discussions. The daily tasks have been done and delivered as per scheduled. A student has showed ability to apply the knowledge by presenting his/her own questions, interpretations and examples. Student has actively participated the possible guest lecturer’s lecture sessions.
Essay writing have been done according to the instructions and returned in time. Essays have been written in good English, and the content contains student’s own well argumented thoughts and opinions on the given topic. Referring has been done according to the TAMK Reporting Guide instructions.
