Objectives

Common part for everyone:

The student gains a comprehensive overview of the essential tasks in event production.

The student can organize and motivate professional teams to implement the subprocesses of event production and act as a supervisor for their production team.

The student can model, organize, and lead event production processes from pre-production onwards.

The student knows the basics of crisis management.

Optional section:

The student can perform a chosen task (e.g., stage manager, program and event producer, or volunteer coordinator) according to the essential skills needed for the role. These task-specific skill requirements are defined at the beginning of the course.

Content

Face-to-face and remote lectures, group and individual exercises, as well as a development task. The course consists of a common part for everyone and an optional section. The optional part is composed of 3-4 available professional task orientation sections, from which the student chooses one and carries it out as a preparatory task for their internship. The task is aimed to be connected with an actual production in collaboration with the internship site.

Assessment criteria, pass/fail

Pass:

The student demonstrates in writing or in a performance assessment that they:
*are able to describe the key tasks of event productions
*have a solid understanding of how to organize and motivate professional teams for the implementation of event production subprocesses and act as the supervisor of their production team.
*are able to model, organize, and manage event production processes from pre-production at a basic level.
*have a solid understanding of the basics of crisis management.
*are able to perform the chosen task (e.g., stage manager, program and event producer, or volunteer coordinator) according to the key competencies required.

Fail:
The student is unable to demonstrate all the competencies required for an approved performance.

Further information

Part of the studies is carried out in collaboration with the companies in the project's partner network. The course is closely connected to the Event Safety course and the Practical Training 1 period.
