Objectives

The aim of the course is to integrate physical activity into the student's daily life, to provide support for studying and coping with work through physical activity.

Upon completing the Physical activity and well-being, the student course will:
• Recognize the significance of physical activity for personal well-being
• Identify the impact of physical activity on academic performance.
• Recognize the most suitable ways to engage in physical activity for yourself.
• Be familiar with the sports facilities provided by SportUni and in Tampere.

Content

The impacts of physical activity on physical, mental, and social well-being
Maintaining study and work capacity – various ways of staying active
The student's own movement pattern as part of well-being
Adult physical activity recommendations - Self-assessment test for personal activity level (UKK)
Physical activity opportunities at SportUni and in the city of Tampere

Assessment criteria, pass/fail

The course is completed when student recognizes the effects of physical activity on physical, mental, and social well-being and can apply knowledge when planning one's own physical activity.
