Objectives

The course is aimed at all exchange and foreign degree students interested in visiting local schools during their stay in Finland. The course offers a great opportunity for the students to get to know Finnish culture and school life better but also to share their experiences, promote their own home country together with TAMK and encourage Finnish students to study abroad.

Content

The students visit three local comprehensive or secondary schools and participate in lessons for example by giving country and culture presentations or language sessions. The visits can also be arranged through video conferencing.

This course provides foreign students with a chance to visit Finnish schools (primary and secondary education). The students provide information about how they could help in various lessons by filling in the registration form, and then the contact schools will receive that information. All visits are agreed on separately and directly between the schools and the participating students.

Student workload

27 hours in total for preparations and visits.

Content scheduling

After 26.1.2025 when the students have filled in the registration form, the contact schools will be offered a list of the students available for visits, and they will then contact the students directly if they find their skills suitable. The schedule for the visits is agreed upon separately with each school.

Practical training and working life cooperation

3 visits to different schools in the region.

Guidelines for using AI in this implementation
If a student uses AI tools in an allowed manner to assist with their learning tasks, they must cite the AI tools used and provide the prompts they used alongside their task responses. If a student presents AI-generated results as their own without citations, sources, and/or prompts, the teacher may reject the work or require it to be redone. The teacher has the right to ask the student if they have used AI in their learning task.
