Objectives (course unit)
The course provides an overview of Finnish working life.
During the course, student will learn the basics of Finnish working life culture, practices and legislation.
After completing the course, the student
• knows the basics of Finnish working life culture
• knows the basics of job search and working practices in Finland
• is able to reflect on their own competence in the subject
Content (course unit)
Finnish working life culture, practices and legislation
• Basic features of Finnish society
• Starting a job search and looking for a job in Finland
• Starting work and practices in the workplace
• Practices during employment
• Ending of employment and related practices in Finland
Assessment criteria, pass/fail (course unit)
The course is approved when you show that you have mastered the basics of Finnish working life culture, practices and legislation.
Location and time
Non-stop, independent and self-scheduled implementation in Moodle. The course is offered by Akava trade-union (the Confederation of Unions for Professional and Managerial Staff in Finland) and it is completed on Akava's own course platform HowSpace, and the course diploma is returned to Moodle.
