Osaamistavoitteet

Upon completion of the course, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of energy transformation processes and the identification of material properties crucial to energy conversion. They will develop the ability to recognize critical material properties that can impact energy efficiency. Furthermore, students will be well-versed in the latest research and development achievements and challenges in renewable energy technologies, particularly in solar energy, fuel cells & electrolyser (Power-to-X), bioenergy, wind energy, geothermal energy and energy storage systems. Moreover, students will develop excellent understanding on other emerging technologies such as nuclear energy and boiler plants. In addition to theoretical knowledge, the course incorporates practical skills development through a group-based poster presentation. This activity necessitates students to conduct thorough information searches, fostering skills in gathering, processing, evaluating, analyzing, and using information critically and scientifically. Working collaboratively on the poster presentation also improves communication and interaction skills, providing students with valuable experience in group dynamics typical of professional environments. Moreover, the course aims to enhance students' English language proficiency, ensuring they can effectively comprehend developments in the field and collaborate in an international context. Overall, the course equips students with a multifaceted skill set, combining theoretical knowledge with practical abilities and emphasizing the importance of effective communication and teamwork in their future professional endeavors.
