Osaamistavoitteet

After the course the students:Recognise,  which joining methods can be used to join metal components/parts together. Understand properties and structures of the different joints and are able to apply this knowledge in practice. Are able to describe  formation of metallurgical phases in weld bead and on heat affected zone, and knows their effects on properties. Know how the most common welding defects can be avoided and can consider weldability and welding as well as brazing/soldering practices of different metals.  Understand how joints are formed in mechanical and adhesive bondingKnow adhesion properties including  effects on different types of interphasesAre able to estimate long-term durability of adhesive bonds in different environments.
