The student
-knows the phases and actors of the wood supply process
-knows the basics of cut-to-length method, wood storage at the roadside and the prerequisites of cost-effective harvesting
-knows how to interpret a harvesting plan and how to choose the trees to be removed in a thinning
-knows the principles of how to buck a stem to different timber grades.

Wood supply organizations and other actors, phases of wood supply chain, harvesting methods, dimensional and quality requirements of different timber grades, bucking recommendations, wood storage at the roadside, timber price at the roadside,using a chain-saw in thinnings, occupational safety in forestry, first-aid diploma.
