Objectives
The students know the planning principles of wood procurement organisations, and understand their effects in the operations of a machine company. They know how to plan mechanised wood procurement, work as supervisors and to instruct machine drivers. The students know the basics of using forest machinery. The students know the procurement chains of energy wood and their characteristics.
Content
Monthly and operative planning of wood procurement (chains, machine specific works programs, controlling the amount being harvested), the importance of goals for harvesting guidance, planning harvesting, terrain work planning and the importance of having correct planning data for implementation, various harvesting methods, occupational safety, stages of harvesting and their most important characteristics, operations and work stages of a forest machine, simulator exercises, fuel wood harvesting chains and methods, measuring energy wood.
