Objectives

The students know the concepts and phenomena of inorganic chemistry, are able to apply the basic analytics of inorganic chemistry and use the chemicals in a proper and safe manner while taking the environmental viewpoint into account. The students know how to solve mathematical problems of chemistry, how to work in groups and how to report in writing. The course in inorganic chemistry forms the basis for professional development.

Content

Basic concepts (structure, compounds, oxidation and reduction), fluid characteristics, chemical reactions, chemical balance, acids and bases, pH and neutralisation, solubility, electrochemistry and corrosion, occupational safety and legislation of chemicals, laboratory work.
